BridgeBio reports exploratory PROPEL 3 data showing wider clinical trends for oral infigratinib

US biopharmaceutical company BridgeBio Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBIO), which develops medicines for genetic conditions, on Wednesday announced the release of new exploratory analyses from PROPEL 3, its global Phase 3 study of oral infigratinib in children with achondroplasia.

The findings indicate favourable trends beyond growth, including effects on sleep apnoea, otitis media and body composition.

After 52 weeks, mean total Apnoea-Hypopnea Index increased 10.4% from baseline in the oral infigratinib group, compared with a 49.2% rise for placebo; in children under eight, the measure was unchanged for oral infigratinib versus a 63.2% increase for placebo. The estimated annualised rate of otitis media events was 38% lower with oral infigratinib than placebo, and 47% lower in children under eight.
