Ascletis Pharma Inc (HKEX: 1672), a China-based, R&D driven biotech company, announced on Sunday that it has named John P. Gargiulo as its new chief business officer.

In the new role, Gargiulo is to head the company's corporate business development and alliance management and report to Dr Jinzi J. Wu, PhD, of Ascletis founder, chairman and CEO.

Gargiulo has served as North America president and CEO of Daiichi Sankyo. He has more than 30 years of experience in marketing strategies, business integration and commercial operations in the global pharma/biotech industry. He has served in various positions with increasing responsibility for 18 years at Daiichi Sankyo.
