Afaxys LLC, a US-based pharmaceutical company, announced on Tuesday that it has named Kelly R Culwell, MD, MPH, FACOG, as its new senior vice president and chief medical officer.

In the new role, Dr Culwell will serve as a member of the company's executive team and will offer guidance on the strategic direction and implementation of the firm's clinical, medical and regulatory objectives that will build on and sustain present and future portfolio assets.

Dr Culwell has served as CMO of Evofem Biosciences for the past seven years and CMO of WCG and Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest among other roles and organisations.
