Healthcare company Luminex Corporation (Nasdaq:LMNX) reported on Tuesday the resignation of its chairman, G. Walter Loewenbaum from its board of directors.
Following Loewenbaum's retirement on 3 August 2020, the company's board of directors will consist of eight members: Shamir, Dr Ogunro, Tom Erickson, Kevin McNamara, Jim Kever, Ken Samet, Dr Stephen Eck and Dijuana Lewis.
The company has named Shamir as chairman of the board and has elected Dr Edward Ogunro as its lead independent director.
Previously, Dr Ogunro has worked in a number of leadership positions for more than 20 years at Abbott Laboratories as well as served as senior vice president, R&D and Medical Affairs and chief scientific officer of Hospira Inc.
