Be The Match disclosed on Tuesday that C. Randal Mills, PhD will step down as its chief executive officer for personal reasons.

Until Dr Mills' successor is elected, Amy Ronneberg, the company's chief financial officer and chief of staff, will serve as the acting CEO.

In May 2017, Dr Mills was appointed to the company as its CEO, replacing the outgoing Jeffrey Chell, MD, who left in 2000.

Be The Match is a non-profit organisation that delivers cures to patients in need of a life-saving marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. It also conducts research through the CIBMTR (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research) programme.
