Health care company Northwell Health reported on Friday that Karina Davidson, PhD, MASc has been appointed as vice chair of the US Preventive Services Task Force.
Prior to the new position, Dr Davidson lead the new Manhattan-based Feinstein Institute centre focused on personalised health, a position she held since December 2018.
Currently, Dr Davidson serves as the senior vice president of research at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, the research arm of Northwell Health.
Presently, Dr Davidson is a professor of behavioural medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and a licensed clinical psychologist.
The Task Force is an independent, volunteer panel of national experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine. The panel's mission is to improve the health of all Americans by making evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services such as screenings, counselling services and preventive medications.
