Sanofi commits USD18m to boost diversity in clinical studies
16 October 2024 -

French healthcare company Sanofi S.A. (Euronext Paris:SAN) (Nasdaq:SNY) announced on Wednesday that it will contribute USD18m to three Historically Black Medical Schools (HBMCs) to help enhance diversity in clinical studies.

The investment will support the establishment of Centers of Excellence in clinical study diversity at Howard University College of Medicine, Meharry Medical College, and Morehouse School of Medicine.

Funding will be allocated to hire clinical research staff, improve infrastructure, develop training programs, and address specific needs of each HBMC. These efforts aim to increase representation and improve diversity in clinical studies, leveraging the insights of the underrepresented communities served by these institutions.

This commitment aligns with Sanofi's partnership with the NAACP, which focuses on advancing health equity for Black and underserved communities.
