Women's health company Hologic Inc (Nasdaq: HOLX) announced on Monday that it has finalised its acquisition of Gynesonics Inc, a privately held medical device company, for approximately USD350.
Gynesonics focuses on developing minimally invasive solutions for women's health.
The acquisition includes Gynesonics' Sonata System, a technology designed for diagnostic intrauterine imaging and transcervical treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids, including those linked to heavy menstrual bleeding. The Sonata System combines real-time ultrasound guidance with targeted radiofrequency ablation in a minimally invasive procedure.
Hologic continues to strengthen its position in women's health, with a focus on innovative medical technologies that enhance detection, diagnosis and treatment worldwide.
