GE HealthCare expands Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound portfolio with three new systems
28 August 2026 -

Medical technology company GE HealthCare (Nasdaq:GEHC) on Friday unveiled three additions to its Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound portfolio: Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus, designed to address imaging and workflow needs across cardiology care settings.

The systems will be showcased at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany from 28-31 August.

Vivid Explorer targets high-volume echo labs and routine interventional procedures, while Vivid Advanced is designed for mid-size hospitals and cardiology practices requiring comprehensive cardiac imaging and additional vascular, abdominal and soft-tissue capabilities.

Vivid Focus brings cSound imaging technology to everyday cardiac imaging and includes the new 4Sc-RS probe and AI-enabled workflow tools.

The three systems join Vivid Pioneer and Vivid iq within the broader Vivid portfolio, which spans complex cardiovascular cases, routine imaging and portable ultrasound applications.

GE HealthCare also introduced the latest version of EchoPAC Software Only v2113, extending capabilities available on the three new Vivid systems to on-site and remote study analysis, quantification and reporting.

All three systems use the portfolio's cSound software-based imaging architecture, which is designed to optimise contrast, resolution and tissue visualisation through advanced processing. AI and automation capabilities include AI Auto Measure 2D, Easy AutoEF, Easy AFI LV and AI Cardiac Auto Doppler, while a common interface and adjustable ergonomics are intended to support workflow continuity across systems.

Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus also feature battery-supported operation and Power Saving Mode to facilitate movement between clinical environments and reduce energy use while maintaining performance.
