Danish biopharmaceutical company H. Lundbeck A/S (CPH: HLUN-B) on Friday announced plans to move its US headquarters from Deerfield, Illinois, to Greater Boston, Massachusetts.

Lundbeck said the relocation supports the next phase of its Focused Innovator strategy, aimed at scaling its neuroscience portfolio, expanding innovation opportunities and strengthening digital and AI capabilities. The company said it has reported strong growth over the past three years, including pipeline transformation and disciplined capital allocation.

Greater Boston's concentration of academic institutions, healthcare organisations, biotechnology companies and technology expertise is expected to enhance Lundbeck's access to scientific talent and external partnerships. The new hub will build on Lundbeck's existing presence in Cambridge and support closer collaboration across its US operations.

The transition will take place over the next year, with Lundbeck focusing on retaining its US workforce and maintaining business continuity.
