Swedish pharmaceutical company EQL Pharma AB (STO: EQL), which specialises in developing and selling generics, said on Wednesday it has secured approval for its melatonin-based product Mellozzan in Kazakhstan through regional partner Abdi Ibrahim, a Turkish pharmaceutical company with manufacturing facilities in Türkiye, Kazakhstan and Algeria.
The authorisation currently covers the 3 mg strength, with approval for the 5 mg strength expected in December 2026. Both strengths are planned for launch in the 2027/28 fiscal year.
Mellozzan is indicated for children with ADHD experiencing sleep difficulties unresponsive to sleep-hygiene measures, and for the short-term treatment of jet lag in adults.
