US-based Kroger Health, the healthcare division of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), announced on Wednesday that it has received the 2022 American Pharmacists Association Immunization Champion Award.
The award is claimed to honour individuals and organisations making extraordinary contributions toward improved vaccination rates within their communities. It honours Kroger Health as being an organisation that continuously advances the role of pharmacists as valued immunisation administrators, and Kroger Health's collaboration, coordination and communication with healthcare providers, public health organisations and others to address immunisation barriers and administer the COVID-19 vaccine.
Colleen Lindholz, Kroger Health president, said, 'It's undeniable that Kroger Health is one of America's leading healthcare organisations and we've taken on the responsibility to improve immunisation rates across the country starting with our associates and patients. On National Pharmacist Day, we dedicate this award to the nearly 22,000 frontline health care providers in our organisation who have administered over 10 million COVID-19 vaccines to help people live healthier lives.'
