Egypt will bar public service workers unvaccinated against COVID-19 from entering government buildings from the middle of November 2021, BBC News reported on Monday.
According to a cabinet notice on Sunday, workers would have to be vaccinated or take a weekly COVID-19 test to be allowed into government buildings from 15 November 2021.
Data from Egypt's health ministry has revealed that the country has administered over 30 million COVID-19 vaccine doses out of a population of over 100 million people.
The cabinet also allowed the opening up of bathrooms in mosques from Wednesday. The bathrooms were reportedly closed in March 2021 as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, the Egyptian government has also allocated USD64m to address the pandemic.
