Authorities in Moscow, the capital city of Russia, have announced a cash incentive for older people to get vaccinated against COVID-19, BBC News reported on Wednesday.
This comes as Moscow continues to battle rising COVID-19 cases and sluggish vaccine uptake. The city recorded 4,410 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
Moscow city's mayor has announced that anyone over the age of 65 who has had both COVID-19 shots or a booster, will be entitled to a USD140 reward.
Moscow pensioners had already been offered gifts, which will reportedly remain available, the BBC noted.
