The health ministry of Panama has said it would allow emergency use of the Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE)-BioNTech (Nasdaq:BNTX) COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 12 years and older, Reuters news agency reported on Tuesday.
However, no details were given on when it would start.
The health ministry stated that authorisation of the vaccine for children from 12 to 16 was based on data showing it was effective for that age group as well as for adults.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is already authorised for those older than 16 in Panama.
