Tolmar, a US-based specialty pharmaceutical company, announced on Friday that it has established Tolmar Canada to sell, market and distribute Eligard in Canada, effective 1 January 2022.

The product is a prescription medication intended for the palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer.

The company is to resume the rights to ELIGARD in the Canadian market. Sanofi Canada has withdrawn marketing and promotional activities of ELIGARD in the Canadian market effective 30 September 2021 and will stop selling and distribution after 31 December 2021. Tolmar is to exclusively market, sell, and distribute the product in Canada after those respective dates.
