Drug retailer Albertsons Companies (NYSE:ACI) reported on Monday that it has launched several new important offerings that will help empower its customers to stay well this summer as part of its ongoing effort to help America combat the COVID-19 pandemic during these unprecedented times.
To date, the company said it has administered six million COVID-19 vaccinations through its 1,700 pharmacies including Safeway, Vons, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Acme, Shaw's, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Market Street, Haggen and Carrs. Customers who get vaccinated at an eligible pharmacy will be provided with a 10% off coupon for grocery purchase, up to USD200, subject to exceptions.
The company has also announced a free digital vaccine record that can be downloaded and saved to a digital device. Customers who completed their COVID-19 vaccine through any of its pharmacy will receive an email with detailed instructions on access to the digital vaccine record.
According to the company, it is offering over-the-counter rapid COVID-19 testing from Abbott's BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test that can be used by individuals with or without symptoms who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
In addition, the company has partnered with Moderna to sponsor a COVID-19 vaccine map on Nextdoor to help users locate nearby vaccine appointment locations.
