New Zealand gives provisional approval for AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine

Medsafe, the health regulator of New Zealand, has granted provisional approval for the AstraZeneca (LON:AZN) COVID-19 vaccine for individuals aged 18 years and older, Reuters news agency reported on Thursday.

Reportedly, New Zealand secured 7.6 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine through an advance purchase agreement with the company in 2020.

So far, New Zealand has only been using the Pfizer (NYSE:PFE)/BioNTech (Nasdaq:BNTX) COVID-19 vaccine in its vaccination programme.
