Adare Pharma Solutions, a US-based contract development and manufacturing organisation, announced on Tuesday that it has chosen manufacturing productivity company Vantage Solutions to head an upgrade of its pharmaceutical packaging capabilities.
The upgrade is intended to allow the company to better serve its customer requirements at its FDA-registered packaging facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The site offers a complete range of solid-dose contract packaging services at both clinical and commercial scale, that includes bottles, blister packs, stick packs, and packaging of DEA schedules II-IV.
Vantage is to manage the deployment and optimisation of conveyors, printers, cameras, and computer systems that will provide improvements to the serialisation and aggregation capabilities of Adare's bottling and blister pack lines.
The upgrades are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2023. This upgrade will make Adare's packaging services completely compliant with the new Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) regulations relating to the tracing of prescription drug products via the pharmaceutical supply distribution chain, which is effective November 2023.
