Antheia, a US-based synthetic biology company, announced on Thursday that it has named Zack McGahey as its new chief operating officer.

In the new role, McGahey is to manage the company's transition from pilot scale to commercial scale manufacturing. This includes overseeing product manufacturing and quality, both internally and at external manufacturing partners, as well as global supply chain and project management.

McGahey has held the position of vice president of manufacturing and capex engineering at Zymergen. He has also handled commercial scale facilities operations for Tesla.
