12 July 2021 -

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) (IDX:BBRI) reported on Sunday the launch of Indonesian Government's COVID-19 vaccination programme as well as the state-owned companies' effort in improving the services in the fight against the pandemic.

Through the BRI Manado Regional Office, BRI has deployed its floating bank, named Teras BRI Bahtera Seva III ship, to help medical personnel carry out vaccinations in the South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku.

The BRI Programme is reportedly in line with the Indonesian government's plan to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination so that herd immunity can be achieved through this real collaboration between Financial Services Authority, financial services industry and the Ministry of Health.

Additionally, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir, vice president director of BRI, Catur Budi Harto and Darwisman, the head of the Financial Services Authority of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Maluku, are all optimistic that the countermeasures taken by state-owned companies will accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination response rate.
