Russia to supply Pakistan with 150,000 doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine

The Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov has disclosed that Russia plans to supply Pakistan with 150,000 doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine developed in Russia, news company CNN reported on Wednesday.

The private sector in Pakistan has already reportedly purchased 50,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine and these are currently being sold commercially.

According to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University, since the start of the pandemic Pakistan has recorded over 700,000 cases of COVID-19 and more than 15,000 deaths related to the disease.

CNN also reported that Russia has recently announced agreements with 20 manufacturers in 10 different countries to produce its Sputnik V vaccine.
