RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation selected under tender as treatment planning system at Canadian cancer centre
17 October 2018 -

Medical technology company RaySearch Laboratories AB (STO:RAYB) announced on Tuesday the selection by Centre intégré de cancérologie de Laval, Montreal, Canada, of its RayStation solution through the public tender process as its sole treatment planning system, replacing existing systems.

Financial details of this selection were not available. This centre started cancer treatments in 2011 for residents of Laval and the surrounding areas.

Currently, Centre intégré de cancérologie de Laval is equipped with four linacs, all Elekta Synergy with Agility MLC, as well as advanced imaging systems such as CT, PET-CT and MRI. This centre plans for future expansion including MRI Simulation imaging tools and an additional linac to treat specialized cases.

Reportedly, this tender is the fifth public tender won by RaySearch in Canada over the past two years. At least one more RFP (request for proposal) tender in Canada is expected to be released during 2018.

RayStation integrates all RaySearch's advanced treatment planning solutions into a flexible treatment planning system. It combines unique features such as multi-criteria optimisation tools with full support for 4D adaptive radiation therapy. It also includes functionality such as RaySearch's algorithms for IMRT and VMAT optimisation and highly accurate dose engines for photon, electron, proton and carbon ion therapy.

RaySearch Laboratories develops innovative software solutions for improved cancer treatment. RaySearch markets the RayStation treatment planning system and the RayCare oncology information system to clinics all over the world and distributes products through licensing agreements with leading medical technology companies.
