Medical technology company Sectra (STO: SECT B) announced on Monday a collaboration with Siemens Healthineers AG to enhance radiologists' diagnostic capabilities through seamless integration.
Radiologists can now access and post-process Siemens Healthineers' NAEOTOM Alpha class photon-counting CT images directly within Sectra's diagnostic application for radiology. This eliminates the need for users to switch applications or workstations for efficient image review.
NAEOTOM Alpha scanners generate contrast-rich images with high spatial resolution at a reduced radiation dose, benefiting cases requiring detailed visualization, such as brain and heart imaging. Lower radiation exposure is particularly advantageous for paediatric oncology patients requiring repeated scans.
Previously, full interactive utilization of spectral data from these images was limited to Siemens Healthineers' enterprise reading and reporting solution. Integration with Sectra's PACS now enables radiologists to perform spectral post-processing within their primary workflow. Combining Sectra's PACS capabilities with Siemens Healthineers' CT technology supports improved diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.
