Celularity Inc (Nasdaq:CELU), a longevity-focused regenerative and cellular medicine company, and Vesalius Longevity Labs Inc, a global peptide and longevity brand, announced on Thursday that they have signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement to establish a US-based final-stage manufacturing and supply platform for Vesalius's Peptual-branded active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
Under the agreement, Celularity will use its Florham Park, New Jersey, facility to perform downstream purification, processing, analytical testing and manufacturing using supplier-provided bulk peptide material. The collaboration aims to establish peptide-specific processes that meet current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards, with documented sourcing, product specifications and lot-level traceability.
Celularity and Vesalius intend to supply eligible Peptual APIs to appropriately licensed US compounding pharmacies if the FDA, following consideration of recommendations from the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee, adds applicable peptide substances and forms to its list of bulk drug substances permitted for compounding under federal law. The agreement excludes GLP-1 receptor agonists and other weight-loss peptides.
This partnership expands Celularity's manufacturing capabilities into peptide APIs, leveraging its US infrastructure and technical expertise to support potential revenue growth. The companies also aim to strengthen domestic pharmaceutical supply-chain resilience and ingredient traceability amid regulatory scrutiny of imported APIs and concerns about sourcing from unverified foreign suppliers.
