Eurofins Viracor introduces BKV inSIGHT T-cell immunity panel for BK virus immune monitoring in kidney transplant patients
23 July 2026 -

Diagnostic specialist Eurofins Viracor, a subsidiary of product testing provider Eurofins Scientific (Euronext Paris:ERF), announced on Wednesday the commercial availability of the BKV inSIGHT T-Cell Immunity Panel (TCIP) (Test Code 33591), a novel immune monitoring assay designed to measure BK virus (BKV)-specific T-cell immunity in patients experiencing significant levels of BK viremia with recent onset.

The assay provides clinicians with immune response information that may help identify patients with the capacity for immunological control of BK viral replication.

BK virus remains a significant clinical challenge following kidney transplantation. Management of BK viremia frequently involves reducing immunosuppressive therapy to allow for restoration of antiviral immunity; however, lowering immunosuppression may also increase the risk of immune-mediated allograft rejection. The BKV inSIGHT T-Cell Immunity Panel was developed to provide insight into the patient's virus-specific cellular immune response during the early stages of clinical decision-making.

This test has been developed, and the performance characteristics were determined, by Eurofins Viracor. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

As part of Eurofins Viracor's expanding portfolio of transplant and immunology testing solutions, the BKV inSIGHT T-Cell Immunity Panel is designed to provide clinicians with a new tool to evaluate virus-specific immune function and support comprehensive monitoring of transplant patients at risk for BK virus-associated complications.
