Aurora Cannabis Inc (NYSE | TSX: ACB), a Canada-based cannabis company, announced on Thursday that it has named two new independent directors, Lance Friedmann and Michael Detlefsen, effective immediately.

Friedmann has more than 25 years of experience with Kraft Foods and Mondelez International, Inc. He has held various roles in marketing and strategy across the United States, Latin America and Asia, including senior management of Kraft Foods' marketing-related and corporate marketing programmes, for Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, and Health and Wellness.

Detlefsen is currently the Managing Director of Pomegranate Capital Advisors. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior executive and investor across global consumer products, agri-food, logistics and transportation, and telecom. He also serves on the boards of SunOpta (NASDAQ: STKL) and Phoenix Canada Oil Company (TSX:PCO), and previously served on the boards of State Street and Multi-Marques in Canada and CWC Communications PLC in the UK.
