WW (NASDAQ: WW), the new Weight Watchers, announced yesterday that it has named Joe Quenqua as its new chief communications officer, effective 10 June 2019.
Quenqua will be a member of the executive committee and report to Mindy Grossman, WW president and chief executive officer. He will lead external and internal communications globally.
Quenqua brings more than thirty years of experience in public relations and strategic corporate communications across a diverse portfolio of film, television, music, tech and lifestyle brands. He comes to the company directly from his role as managing director at 42West, an entertainment industry PR firm, and, before that he served as executive vice president and head of the national entertainment practice for DKC/Dan Klores Communications. In these roles, he worked with an array of clients in both the entertainment and tech industries. Until 2013, Quenqua served as a vice president at Walt Disney Studios where he spent over a decade leading the national media strategies across all film titles and brands including Marvel, Pixar, Disney Animation and live action. Additionally, he served as the head of worldwide communications for Disney Theatrical Group, the company's global stage division.
