Joseph R. Swedish Named to Board of Directors at Centrexion Therapeutics
6 July 2018 - - Boston, Massachusetts-based non-opioid, non-steroidal chronic pain therapeutics developer Centrexion Therapeutics Corp. has appointed Joseph R. Swedish to its board of directors, the company said.
Most recently, Swedish served as chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Anthem, a company which experienced strong financial performance under his leadership.
Modern Healthcare has named Swedish one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for the twelfth year in a row, ranking him in the top 20 of the health sector's most senior-level executives.
Additionally, Swedish works closely with political leaders and policymakers to find innovative, cost-effective solutions to some of the nation's most pressing healthcare challenges.
He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his master's degree in health administration from Duke University.
Centrexion is focused on advancing the treatment of chronic moderate to severe pain with its pipeline of non-opioid, non-addictive therapies.
The company aims to develop new, safer, and more effective therapies that overcome the limitations and challenges associated with current pain treatments.
