American Brain Tumor Association elects brain tumour survivor Brian Olson as chair of board

Brain tumour research company American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) said on Tuesday that its board of directors has elected Brian Olson, CFP as its chairman under his third term.

Olson replaces Jeff Fougerousse of Elmhurst, Illinois, who will remain on the company's board as immediate past chair.

According to the company, Olson is a 30-year brain tumour survivor and was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma when he was just 12-years-old.

Recently, Olson has served as a member of the ABTA board since 2011, treasurer for his first term from 2012-2015 as well as vice chair during his second term from 2015-2017. Currently, Olson is a Certified Financial Planner for Edward Jones.

At the annual meeting of the board of directors on 4 August: Jim Reilly has been named as the new vice chair; Craig Stokely is the new secretary; and Carla Varner remains treasurer. All three have started their second term on the board. Susannah Davis and Alison Miller have also been elected for the second term.
